Turkish volleyball star Melisa Vargas has officially announced her departure from Tianjin and her upcoming move to Fenerbahçe for the next season. Despite extending her contract with Tianjin until 2026 just last year, Vargas will end her tenure in China earlier than expected.
In a heartfelt farewell posted on social media via her agency ‘SB Community,’ Vargas expressed gratitude for her time with Tianjin. “The past three years have been incredible, and I’m thankful to have been part of this team,” she shared. “Winning three consecutive titles means a lot to me, and it wouldn’t have been possible without all of your support. I’m especially grateful to my teammates, coaches, and the fans who made every match special.”
Vargas will join Fenerbahçe at the start of the upcoming season, marking a full transition rather than a mid-season move as in previous years. Fenerbahçe aims to defend its Turkish championship title and pursue success in the Champions League, Cup, and Super Cup.
