A brutal unbeaten run of the titleholders Imoco Volley Conegliano in the 2019/20 Italian Women’s Volleyball Championship regular season has been continued.

In an advanced match of Round 7 of the 2019/20 Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile regular season, Imoco Volley Conegliano swept the home side of Bosca San Bernardo Cuneo, who suffered fourth defeat in a row, by a 3-0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-20). This was an eighth consecutive success (no defeats) for Imoco, who recorded the win without major star Paola Egonu. Imoco head coach Santarelli decided to give her a day off in order to save the strength for the Super Cup against Igor Gorgonzola Novara that will be played this Saturday. Indre Sorokaite top-scored for Imoco with 14 points, while American Chiaka Ogbogu made 5 kill blocks. As for Cuneo, Belgian Lise van Hecke tallied 12 points.

Igor Gorgonzola Novara have finally welcomed a debut of famous Serbian opposite hitter Jovana Brakočević-Canzian who was sidelined for a long time due to injury. She was not a starter in the match against Golden Tulip VolAlto 2.0 Caserta but entered the court in the first set, even was in the line-up in the fourth set. The European champions prevailed over Caserta on the road by a 3-1 with Bulgarian Elitsa Vasileva chipping in 22 points. Canadian Alexa Gray scored 19 for Caserta.

ITA M: Trentino secure signature of 3-time consecutive SuperLega top scorer Abdel-Aziz!

One of the best opposite hitters in the world right now. Trentino will have a hell of the power when it comes to finish the ball but will definetely struggle to receive it. Both Lucarelli and Kooy are easy targets to aim and were usually hidden behind a libero. Still seems like there will be top 3 clubs in Italy next season: Lube, Perugia, Trentino. Modena will be weaker for sure and will struggle to be in the top 6 and Piacenza may make a surprise. Reply

ITA M: Trentino sign newly proclaimed Italy National Team member Kooy

Dick Kooy is a really solid player who has been very consistent in his pro career. Gaining him and Rossini are very very good Italian additions. That being said the loss of Grebennikov, Russell and Kovacevic will be significant.
Ultimately I will cheer for a healthy uninterrupted A1 season....fans or no fans....We need to play volleyball!!! Reply
