A brutal unbeaten run of the titleholders Imoco Volley Conegliano in the 2019/20 Italian Women’s Volleyball Championship regular season has been continued.

In an advanced match of Round 7 of the 2019/20 Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile regular season, Imoco Volley Conegliano swept the home side of Bosca San Bernardo Cuneo, who suffered fourth defeat in a row, by a 3-0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-20). This was an eighth consecutive success (no defeats) for Imoco, who recorded the win without major star Paola Egonu. Imoco head coach Santarelli decided to give her a day off in order to save the strength for the Super Cup against Igor Gorgonzola Novara that will be played this Saturday. Indre Sorokaite top-scored for Imoco with 14 points, while American Chiaka Ogbogu made 5 kill blocks. As for Cuneo, Belgian Lise van Hecke tallied 12 points.

She was not a starter in the match against Golden Tulip VolAlto 2.0 Caserta but entered the court in the first set, even was in the line-up in the fourth set. The European champions prevailed over Caserta on the road by a 3-1 with Bulgarian Elitsa Vasileva chipping in 22 points. Canadian Alexa Gray scored 19 for Caserta.

CWCH 2019 M: Bruninho refuses to receive MVP award and hands it to Leal (VIDEO)!

If the process is obviously corrupted then it should be bypassed - FiVB should be objective, in this case they were not. Leal's deserving of the award IS the point, otherwise what is? And I doubt anyone would call FIVB shenanigans a 'process' LOL. They were clearly wrong and deserved to be called out for it. Why should Leal suffer the prejudice. Reply

Whether Leal deserved MVP award or not that is a different discussion. Don't take me wrong, he is a great player. But I am not sure how Bruno got the idea that he has the right to bypass the FIVB process and voting committee and give award he was given to someone else. This is a scandal and he should be punished for this behavior. Reply

Perhaps what will most be remembered is how Leal was snubbed of an award he rightly deserved. That was shameful. No idea why the prejudice against such a deserving player. Lube would not have w on this without Leal. Reply
