Former and current players and coaches, numerous fans as well, are against it and through social networks they are trying to avoid the termination of one of the most successful clubs in Argentina.

The management of Boca seeks the ways to reduce costs. The football section of the club takes the majority of the budget so the rumors of termination of some sport branch inside the club has returned, but this time with a serious tone.

“I see a very strong commitment of the leaders to shut down the male and female volleyball teams,” said Eduardo Rodríguez, Boca’s manager, to “TyCSports” and added it would not touch the amateur teams.

Boca teams in both competitions are among the leading ones at the national and international level.

In the case of the male team, Boca Río Uruguay Seguros, was the vice champion in 2012 and remained among the top four in the last two seasons.

The women’s team, Club Atlético Boca Juniors dominates in the national competition with four titles in the last five years (wiiners in 2015) and eight consecutive playoff finals.
