Despite the fact they were hosts at the court which was not the one in which they trained and played home games throughout the season, the second-seed UPCN scored a comfortable 3-0 win against No.1 Bolívar in Game 3 of the Liga Argentina 2017/2018 playoff finals and took a 2-1 lead in the series. The match ended partially 25-22, 25-20, 25-17.
The Pole Zbigniew Bartman poured in 24 points for UPCN. Sebastián Garrocq made 83% (12 digs, 1 error, 58% perfect). The Brazilian Théo Lopes scored 13 points for Bolívar, while Leonardo Patti made 80% reception (30 digs, 1 error, 50% perfect).
UPCN will host the next game in the series as well, but once again at Nuestra Señora de Luján gymnasium, whose capacity is significantly smaller than the capacity at Estadio Aldo Centoni, a regular home ground of UPCN. Aldo Centoni embraced a two-day 2018 Men’s Tennis Davis Cup matchup between Argentina and Chile.
Game 4, in which UPCN have a chance to close the series and win the national title, will be played on April 7.
