Will you remove Rabita from the throne?
“I think that this team has a lot of potential and match by match we are getting better. Rabita is a great team but I think we have a chance to beat them. We will see at the end of the season who will take the trophy. But I don’t think that we are so different from them, we should try to win Superleague in Azerbaijan although Azeryol also has a great team.”
You have 29 years and this is your first time to play abroad?
“Yes, it’s my first year out of Italy. Championship in Seria A1 is beautiful, it’s my home, but I’m really happy in Azerbaijan, I like my team and club so much. Obviously, I miss talking in Italian, here is really difficult, I have to speak in English all the time, and my English is not that good. Sometimes it’s borring.”
Do you have any idea where would you like to play in the future?
“I don’t know. I’m starting to get older so I don’t know what will happen. I always talk about Brazil, for me that would be a dream come true. Maybe also in Turkey, but for a middle blocker is more difficult to choose. We will see but I’m happy here.”
In Lokomotiv you also play as opposite, is it difficult for you?
“It’s really difficult and different, but my team has problems in this moment with some injuries and obviously I need to do this. It’s not what I want because I like to be a middle blocker.”
Italy was organizer of the last World Championship and you have taken fourth place. What do you expect in European Championship?
“For sure Italy have a good chance. I think that we did a pretty good work in World Championship, unfortunately we lost in the semi-finals and that was our biggest problem. But I think that we need to be happy, in general what we done. About European championship I think that Italy have desire to take a medal. We need to use our possibility and win, but we will see. It’s early and there is lot of teams. I don’t know what will happened, will I even be in the team, but I‘m sure that Italy will have great team in ECH.” said Arrighetti.
