Everybody were surprised with this decision but she explained everything in the interview for the Brazilian media:
“Last year I was thinking about this move, but obviously I was not ready at that time to retire. You know, a marriage in which you have two kids (two Olympic medals) can’t end easy. Last year Ze Roberto convinced me in 20 minutes that I was wrong. This is an intimate decision; I cannot tell if it’s right or wrong. But I knew that this day will come. For an athlete, it is very difficult to know right time and day to stop. The feeling is that the mission is accomplished ” she Fabiana de Oliveira aka Fabi.
