MAGYAR KUPA: Kazincbarcika win national cup after 13 years

Vegyész RC-Kazincbarcika confirmed their dominance in the Hungarian male volleyball this season by claiming the national cup (Graboplast Magyar Kupa).

In the finals held in front of 1,800 spectators in the city Érd, the regular season winners in the 2017/18 Hungarian men’s volleyball championship NB I, Vegyész RC-Kazincbarcika, swept HÉP-Kecskeméti by a 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-22).

Dávid Szabó from the winning side was the best scored of the match with 18 points, while his teammate Dömötör Mészáros was awarded the MVP of the final. Zoltán Kovács topped Kecskeméti with 13 points.

Thus, Kazincbarcika won the national cup trophy for the first time in 13 years.

They finished the regular season in the national league NB I with a 20-0 record. The playoff sets off in April.
