It was not an easy win. It was a GREAT comeback by the Dutch side, who were behind by two sets but somehow managed to make a turnaround and to win the game in five sets: 3-2 ( (23-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-23, 15-13)
The first two sets went to the French side, who had a control of the game, however, we saw an answer from the Dutch team.
They showed that winning the game against Brazil was not by accident and that you have to take them very seriously. Gido Vermuelen’s side extended the game and even forced the tie-break, after taking the fourth set 25-23!
In the tie-break, the Dutch side had 13-10 lead and France couldn’t do anything to make a comeback and to save this match. This is the incredible result by the Netherlands!
Nimir Abdel Aziz had a stunning display, scoring 31 points, while on the other side Stephen Boyer had 21, while Earvin Ngapeth added 17!
