In Japan, Russia will play in Pool C with USA, South Korea, Thailand, Azerbaijan and Trinidad & Tobago, coach Vadim Pankov Anatoliyevich thinks that the Pool is not easy:

Our Pool is very strong. USA and Korea are the serious opponents but Thailand are also not simple. Our last match in the Pool will be against USA an that is not good. If we play in the beginning, it would be better because the US is getting ready gradually. At first, it is a lot of swinging and tuning for a long playing period. In the first matches, they are not so good but in general – all this does not matter. There is a schedule, and we will play on it. There are no other options.”

Russian team for WCH in Japan:

Setters: Evgenia Startseva and Tatiana Romanova.

Opposites: Nataliya Goncharova and Daria Malygina.

Middle blockers: Irina Koroleva, Irina Fetisova, Ekaterina Lyubushkina and Ekaterina Efimova.
