Rote Raben Vilsbiburg won agaisnt USC Munster in the ninth round of the Bundesliga. Guillermo Gallardo's team makes a big step towards the play-offs. Rote Raben started with Lena Stigrot, Celin Stöhr, Lenka Dürr, Lena Möllers, Jana-Franziska Poll, Sonja Newcombe and Renata Cristina de Jesus Benedito.

Liana Mesa Luaces and Cristina Alves Oliveira Ferreira were injured. Lena Stigrot and Celin Stöhr played instead of them with Lenka Dürr, Lena Moller, Jana Franziska Poll, Sonja Newcombe and Renata Cristina de Jesus Benedito in the starting lineup. The average age of the starting lineup was 22 years. “This is probably the youngest Starting Six in the field, during my time in Vilsbiburg” said Guillermo Gallardo.

In the 1st set both teams played well. Rote Raben came to a 8-6 lead, which was increased between the technical time outs and led by strong defense finished the set 25:21.

Rote Raben lead 8-3 but then were followed by a completely unexpected slump. “We lost concentration and Münster returned with our individual errors” said Gallardo. They led with 13:16 and won 23:25.

Vilsbiburg improved their game in the third set especially in the defense and won 25:20.

In the 4th set the same story. Vislbiburg played better, finished the game 25:19.

Jana Franziska had 22 and Lena Stigrot 16 points. However, the MVP was the US-American Sonja Newcombe, who had 11 points tonight.

For USC Münster Lonneke Sloetjes was the best player.
