Verona Volley officially announces an agreement with Nathan Wounembaina, who joins the team for the 2021/22 season.
The Cameroonian Wounembaina (originally from Cameroon but also has a French passport), is an outside hitter with extensive experience in Europe, where he played for the first time in the 2009/2010 season for Volley Asse-Lennik and from 2010-2013 for Noliko Maaseik, both Belgian teams. He spent most of his European experience in France (2013-2020), where he played in Chaumont (2013-2017) and Tours (2017-2020). After France, he had a short experience in Libya at Asswehly Sports Club, and this season he has already signed in Qatar for Al Arabi SC, but after a short time, during the preparation period, he terminated contract for family reasons.
Nathan Wounembaina won a gold medal at the African Games and a silver at the 2019 African Championships with the Cameroon national team, and as a club member he won two championships in Belgium with Noliko Maaseik, and three French Championships, one with Chaumont and two with Tours VB.
