AUS M: Dave Preston is new head coach of Australian Men’s National Team

Volleyball Australia announced that Dave Preston has been named head coach of the Australian men’s national team, known as the Volleyroos.

The Canadian has more than 12 years of international coaching experience at all levels with the Canadian team. His resume includes more than a decade with the Canadian team, including the position of junior head coach and assistant coach of senior men’s team.

Preston has spent nearly three decades in university volleyball, and has been named Conference Coach of the Year 7 times and National Coach of the Year 3 times.

DAVE PRESTON 

  • Coach with Team Canada programs – including 2 World Championships, 1 World Cup, and 4 FIVB World Leagues, 2 FISU games and 1 Junior World Championship. 
  • University Volleyball [1993 – 2022]. 7 time Conference Coach of the Year; 3 time National Coach of the Year; 10 conference titles in the last 14 years; 6 straight national medals. 
  • Head Coach, McMaster University Men’s Volleyball, winning10 championships overall including 6 consecutive (2012-2018) and 6 National Championship medals during the same period.
