These two trophies cannot be even compared,” The Most Valuable Player of the tournament stated after the final match.
“We really couldn’t hope to win the European Championship after such poor campaign in the Olympic qualifications. We were the team now, which is what Boba (Slobodan Kovač) implanted in us – all for one and one for all because that’s the only way we can win. We did that from the first to the last point, we didn’t make a lot of mistakes and that gave us the title,” the opposite hitter and the top scorer for Serbia in the final, Aleksandar Atanasijević, said.
