After 18 years, Argentina’s giants Bolívar won’t be competing in the country’s top division.
When the last season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, a rumor of the withdrawal of the most titled Liga Argentina de Voleibol club started to circulate. Despite the efforts, the club based in Buenos Aires Province didn’t manage to reverse the financial situation into their favor.
Throughout the 18 years of existence and the same number of years of playing in the top division, Bolívar won 8 national titles and one South American Club Championship and Copa Libertadores each.
“Today we have to face, like everyone else, a complicated moment. That’s why we want to inform you that the Ciudad de Bolívar Club won’t participate in the 2020/21 season of the Liga de Voleibol Argentina (ACLAV). This decision responds to the situation of a restructuring of the institution and its sports strategies,” the club posted on its website adding that it will work hard to return to the league as soon as possible.
