On Monday The Hypo Tirol Volleyball Team won the game against SK Posojilnica Aich/Dob in the last round of the first AVL for men with 3:2 (17:25, 26:24, 30:28, 23:25, 15:8).The game that was transmitted live on the ORF Sport Plus had no effect on the situation on the scoreboard. Because the Innsbrucker had already been determined the winners of the basic round before Kärntnern.

The hosting team started the match better in the JUFA Hall attended by many people and could even finish the set earlier. The clear result was due to (25:17) for SK Posojilnica Aich/Dob. When the champion was in the fourth set with 18:14 in the lead, it seemed that game is near to the end. But Aich / Dob struck back again, started a comeback and was rewarded with the balance (25:23). Then, however, the hosts played explosively. In the fifth set Hypo Tirol dominated from the start. Steadily increased the lead and finally established its position with 15:8. So,the defending champion, celebrated in the 20th Game of the basic passageway  with the 20 Victory.

Hypo Tirol’s  head coach Stefan Chrtiansky: “It was the expected tough game, the most difficult for us in the AVL-basic round. We knew that Aich / Dob has stabilized in the recent weeks and has shown strong performance in the European Cup. How we responded in the third set was very important for us mentally. The change of players have done a very good job and contributed much to the success. “
