Serbia

Serbia in great form

Game started very even and nervous at both ends. Neither team was able to really create an advantage so the score was 16-14 in favor of home team. But then Serbia made 4-0 run and completely turned around the score and later won the first period 25-20.

Pretty much the same story was seen in second set. Result was close sometimes even, and neither team could break the deadlock. First two point after a while went to Serbia after great spike of Dragan Stankovic, 20-18. After that Bulgaria couldn’t really hold on and with couple of mistakes advantage of guests grew to 2-0, (25-22).

The tides of game still had time to be turned around. And they did. Bulgaria withstood very aggressive Serbian side in middle of the set and even after 20-18 for guests, Sokolov and company have never given up. Big turnaround and the game was again in balance, 25-21 for Bulgaria.

Still, boys in green didn’t have enough energy to make an entire comeback and Serbia easily won the last, fourth period by 25-21 score.
