Three important names are not on the list, the absence of one came as a surprise. The captain Michal Masný from Polish Jastrzębski won’t go to ECH.

Other two are absent due to injuries – Milan Bencz (Siena, Italy) and Martin Vydarený from domestic team Myjava.

Slovaks have passed the first training week and will continue with further preparation on Monday.

Slovakia will have several sparring games before the continental championship (October 9-18): against Czech Republic away, at home with Estonia, Bulgaria and finally versus world champions Poland.

Slovaks fought their way to the European Championship for the fifth time in a row and eighth overall.

They will play in Pool D in Busto Arsizio (Italy) against reigning title holder Russia, bronze medalists Serbia and Finland.
