Knack scored a solid home win a couple of weeks ago as the Belgian side hosted Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK while the guys from the Lake of Constance have also a similar record of one win and one loss so far in the event. They actually opened their campaign with a 3:2 away win in Innsbruck where they came back from two sets down before losing in straight sets to last year’s winners of Zenit KAZAN.

The Schiervelde sports hall is ready to host a memorable Volleyball night and shall be packed with the home fans for this much awaited clash. Knack ROESELARE is in swing after scoring a 3:1 win this past Wednesday against Prefaxis MENEN in the 1/4 finals of the national cup and edging PNV WAASLAND on Sunday, thereby keeping the top of the stands in the national league.

However, VfB FRIEDRICHSHAFEN is a totally different caliber than the sides Knack got to test in the domestic arena. “We have scouted the videos of their European matches” says assistant coach Bart Hungenaert. “They always take many risks from the serving line and this can lead to many errors in this fundamental but it also puts very much pressure on the reception of their opponents. They also have a good block and with their good serve they can force you to play mainly with the wing spikers who will be always confronted with a tremendous block. We will have to stand their serve and play quick Volleyball. I think that, especially since we play at home, our chances to claim a positive result stand at 50%. We also know that they do perform well in important matches, so this is going to be a very difficult game” he concludes.
