Energa MKS Kalisz announced a significant change in its coaching staff. Marcin Widera, who has been the head coach since May 2022, has stepped down from his position. Przemysław Michalczyk, formerly the assistant coach, has been named as his successor.
Widera’s tenure as head coach saw the team finish sixth in his first season. However, the current season has been challenging for Energa MKS, marked by a streak of five consecutive losses. This slump has led to the team’s descent to eighth place in the standings, triggering the decision for a change in coaching staff.
Before joining the team in Kalisz, Przemysław Michalczyk had experience coaching men’s teams like BBTS Bielsko-Biała, Espadon Szczecin, and BKS Visła Bydgoszcz. He also coached the women’s team, ITA Toolls Stal Mielec.
