It seems that Trefl have a patent on how to beat Plusliga leaders because they downed them for the second time this season.
„It was a very difficult, yet extremely important match in the context of the standings. I would even say that it was a strange match, because it was important to us, but not so much for Zaksa. It is almost certain they will play in the (playoff) finals,“ coach of Trefl, Italian Andrea Anastasi, said after the win over Zaksa.
„The hosts played just a very good match, they showed a good level of volleyball. They resolved the match mainly in the service. All sets were leveled, but at the end of each, rivals usually have done something better than us. We must turn this defeat into gold and draw conclusions from it. We must do everything to prepare well for the next match,“ Anastasi’s compatriot on Zaksa’s bench, Ferdinando De Giorgi, commented.
