A Cuban Wilfredo León, one of the best players in the world, will soon get the right to compete in the jersey of the Polish National Team!

The President of the PZPS, Jacek Kasprzyk, was asked by the sport.pl reporter before the upcoming friendly tournament “Wagner Memorial” (starts today) about the situation with León, that got complicated in terms of changing sports nationality in the last several months due to the fact that his native Federation withholds the whole process.

When will Wilfredo Leon, who is to be the guest at the Wagner Memorial, play for Poland?

“Soon,” Kasprzyk said.

Is there any chance that he will compete in next year’s World Championships?

“No, not for a year yet, because two years need to pass before he changes the national team.”

Does this process go on at the moment?

“Yes.”

So in the next European Championships, in 2019, Poland will have León in the team?

“I think so. 100 percent yes,” The President of the PZPS was sure.
