The hosts started with a lead in the first set, on the first tehnical time out it was 8:6. Gyorgy Grozer and Dmitriy Muserskiy led Belgorod to a five point lead, and that is when the guests’ coach called for a time out. In the end it didn’t make much deifference as Belgorod won 25:22.
The second and the third set were pretty much the same as Belogorie came to a big lead and won both parts, 25:13 and 25:16.
Interestingly, the clubs thath have won nine Russian championships (7 Belogorie, 2 Dinamo) fight each other to enter the quarterfinals. The defeated team will play in the playouts, a part of the season when teams that didn’t make it and lost in the 1/8 finals, compete to remain in the Superliga next season.
