As General Manager of the Russian Volleyball Federation Vladislav Fadeev stated few days ago, foreign coaches will not be eligible for this position. But, he did not want to reveal names of domestic candidates. Nevertheless, one name was revealed – Zarechie Odintsovo coach Vadim Pankov!

„Of course, I’m ready to lead the women’s team of Russia, if being appointed. It’s a necessary thing, it’s our duty – to work with the national team. I currently work with youth team but if they tell me to work with the senior team… I’m going to work, I’m always willing to help. I didn’t talk about this with federation, all this is only discussed on the sidelines,“ Pankov said to “R-Sport”.

Pankov added that Russian Women’s National Team now needs to start preparing for the next Olympic Games by rejuvenating roster.

If anyone has the insight in qaulitiy of younger female volleyball players in Russia it’s Pankov due to the fact he is at the helm of “B” national team.

Russian Volleyball Federation will consider two candidates for women’s NT head coach position (now only one name is unknown) on December 8.
