Giba’s statement that 7 players of the Russian Olympic volleyball team were under the influence of doping at the London Olympics raised a lot of noise. Many Russian players and coaches have already answered to Giba, while now the most famous of them all decided to say a couple of words about this matter.

Sergey Tetyukhin was not pleasant to Giba. Not at all.

“For me Giba has been one of the most respected volleyball players. He has been that until today. He allowed himself to blame the Russian national team for unfair victory in London! Allegedly, most of our team was under the influence of illegal drugs! I would probably be less surprised if those words came from someone who does not understand our sport. But, from him? He knows very well what price we paid to win that gold medal. But, apparently a man who finished his volleyball career forgot about all of that very quickly. I understand that the defeat in London does not allow him to live in peace and that he did not want to finish his career like that. But, you need to always play with dignity and to remain a man! And that statement he gave… Those are the words of a coward!” stated Tetyukhin.
