Alix Klineman and Kelsey Robinson played their first match at the senior level against top-ranked Brazil. The second-ranked USA Women’s National Team celebrated 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-20) victory.
Klineman, who recently switched from outside hitter to opposite, turned in a match-high 19 points with 14 kills on 27 attacks, three blocks and two aces. Robinson chipped in 13 kills on 25 attacks with just one error, while adding two blocks and an ace.
Lauren Gibbemeyer added eight points, including three blocks. Kristin Hildebrand provided seven kills in the victory. Rachael Adams totaled six kills on 12 errorless attacks. Alisha Glass who set Team USA to a 45 kill percent for the match, contributed two kills and an ace. Libero Nicole Davis, who played at USC, tallied a team-leading 11 digs.
Brazil was led Fe Garay with eight points, while Fabiana and Thaisa pocketed seven points.
