USA Volleyball has processed 317 international transfer certificates allowing United States citizens to compete in foreign professional volleyball leagues for the 2016-17 season as of Nov. 22 – an increase of 55 transfers in the last month.
Additional transfers will be processed throughout the winter months.
USA Volleyball reported that on the women’s side, 224 athletes transfers to 32 countries (Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kosovo, Luxembourg, Malta, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey) while on the men’s side 93 players play in 25 different countries (Austria, Belgium, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey, United Arab Emirates).
