The list of USA’s players will be reduced to 21 players by May 5, which every week’s 14-player roster must be selected from. Each country must declare its 14-player roster two days before the start of each week’s round-robin competition.
“Our 2018 eligibility roster contains a blend of experience and youth,“From returning Olympic medalists to people barely out of college, we’re thrilled to see how this group comes together during a challenging five weeks of preliminary competition and thrilled to be preparing for the first-ever Volleyball Nations League” said Karch Kiraly.

Whats happening to Justine Wong-Orantes? Shes gone from starter on top team to bench warner on the backup squad. Shes great. What hapoened to get so demoted. Kelsey Robinson. Unnn not so mych.
What happened to Karsta Lowe? It looks like she doesn’t play volleyball anymore.

It is true. She retired from professional volleyball after the 2016 Rio Olympics and she is know studying archictecture.

Is not Murphy playing on teams anymore? Never heard about it lately, only about her in the u.s. national team.

After the precious Destiny Hooker, the US team couldn’t find an effective opposite player. They have great middle blockers and receivers but i cannot say the same thing for opposites. Also, i have no idea about liberos!?

Brazil’s middle blockers, outside hitters are shorter and you got no good libero than the fat Suellen and the opposite aside from Tandara you have no one better than Monique. OMG! Calm down. I didn’t compare the US and Brazil. I love both of the teams because they both know how to play volleyball and both teams have really great players. And yeah Sue is overweighted but she is an olympic athlete. BE RESPECTFUL! You are such a rude person. Sorry for you :/

You said USA cannot find an effective opposite after Hooker? Murphy, Fawcett and Lowe were effective. Two is a world champion and the other is a WGP MVP.
You’re asking why USA have no liberos too? The answer to that is USA has no professional league after NCAA. You don’t see a lot of american liberos in foreign leagues because most leagues would prefer their libero to a native of their own country. Some american liberos even have to play as outside hittees to be able to play in foreign leagues. That’s what they do to come up a way to play after NCAA. Hard, right?
I’m sorry if I am disrespectful to you but people like you will kill volleyball. Why not just enjoy volleyball instead? You are a bad critic. Whatever you said, no one will heed because you compare brazilians to gods when they are just only human.
You also act as if brazilian superiority will not end. Here’s a fact kiddo. Russia and Japan used to be the best female volleyball players in the world. Where are they now? Brazil is not immune just as Serie A used to be the strongest league in the world. It all takes economy to crush a league. Hope it doesn’t happen to Superliga, as I am hearing sponsors are now leaving Brazil like Rexona and Nestle. 🙁

You’re right about the three american opposites. Unfortunately, Lowe is retired. Murphy is a great player and so is Fawcett, who played a key role in Dentil/Praia winning the Brazilian Superliga yesterday for the first time yesterday. I hope she stays in Brazil for the next season, like Carli Lloyd who is going to play for the same team. Talking about transfers, it seems that we (the Brazilian league) will lose Sonja Newcombe and Destinee Hooker who were playing for Minas. What a pity.

I only said that I dont know the liberos who involved in the preliminary roster. I didnt say whether they are good or bad because i havent watched them. Also, you can be sure about that I am always criticizing the Brazil National Team, both staff and roster, i am aware of the problems they are facing. In addition, i am making comments but as you know i am not an expert like you, those are my opinions as a volleyball lover. Just dont get angry or dont insult players and me. LOL!

If they see your posts, it’ll hurt them because they are also human like us. I also say bad things about players but not the way you do. I am not perfect but I could tell you are giving way too much vitriol on this site if everyone is coming after you. I think the tone of your posts can be better. I really hope you can be better. Empathy could be good for you. You have to understand in order to feel what the players feel.

And the fat suelen played very well for nation team that we won a Grand Prix, something that USA couldn’t even go to the semi finals in the year..

There is someting strange with M.kiraly ; he always has favourite players Murphy for instance . She’s not strong enough for international level ; last summer she played very bad and didn’t play the season and she’s in the squad again .Strange ! For sure Fawcett is better .But in my humble opinion Rivers is the best opposite in his list . For liberos i can’t undersand that Janisa Johnson is not in the squad ; she’s fantastic in the back row and has played a great season in French league (as outside hitter but not strong enough to play in this role with USA team) she’s ten times better than all the girls chosen for playing liberos. For outside hitters i think that Kiraly will play with Hill and Robinson so it’s less important but Annie Mitchem in my opinion is better than Wilhite,Rolfzen and probably better than Kigdon too. She really deserves to be in the squad .Strange !
