Jihostroj is currently on top of the standings in the Czech national league and the match with the rivals from Bavaria shall enjoy a great atmosphere. Club President Jan Divis says the tickets are already sold out and he expects some 2’000 fans in attendance on Tuesday. The Czechs claimed their first win in history in the Champions League this past October as they incredibly edged Bre Banca Lannutti CUNEO of Italy in straight sets for the second round of play. The local fans are hardly waiting for Generali to travel to Ceske Budejovice and they especially watch out for their setter Branislav Skladany.
“He is a great player, very quick” says Novotny.
“If we want to qualify for the next stage of the competition we have to win this game” adds middle blocker Stepan Smrcka.
After a very special ticketing campaign was launched, manager Zdenek Scheichl singles out: “It is a very important match and the interest of our fans will be enormous”. Jihostroj will line-up all of its best players including setter Filip Habr who, according to head coach Jan Svoboda, is recovering from a knee injury.
