Showcasing their prowess, they won the sets 25-22, 25-21, and 26-24 respectively, marking their third win in the first week of the VNL 2023. Meanwhile, Bulgaria endured a challenging week with three losses and a single victory against Slovenia.
In front of an enthusiastic home crowd, the Japanese team, favored to win, did not disappoint. Their formidable defense was a spectacle to behold, effectively stymieing the Bulgarian offensive attempts.
