This information has been confirmed by his manager George Matijasevic on Twitter.
Michal Kubiak firstly had a contract with Panasonic Panthers until 2018, but he has decided to accept new offer which means to stay for one more year.
Obviously, Kubiak likes playing in Japan, while on the other side Panthers are satisfied with his performances in this season.

Actualy we are not! He didn’t help us win nothing and is out of playoffs…
Well, he can`t win a game own his own. He needs help also. The problem is that all these Japanese Teams depends too much on the international player to win the game. It is not Kubiak`s fault. And the teams seams to be happy with him otherwise they would not kept him.
