I want to wish you good luck in the tournament you will face this weekend. If you obtain the place for London Olympic Games you will receive a scholarship of ENARD (National Entity for High Sport Performance (Ente Nacional de Alto Rendimiento Deportivo, an entity that joins the National Sport Secretariat and the Argentine Olympic Committee) and if you obtain a medal at the Olympic Games you will receive an award as you did at the Guadalajara Pan-American Games” expressed Morresi.
Adding: “I also want to add that there is a lot of people with excitement waiting you obtain a good result, only here at the Sport Secretariat we have a 300 people staff that do their best, each in his or her place supporting your team at all times. We are aware that people became Volleyball fans and that your Federation is working very good and that the grass-root teams therefore are obtaining very good results“.
On the side of the team, Weber pointed out: “This meeting is great. That your Secretariat is near of the athletes is very positive and gives us confidence, mainly because it comes from someone that was a high level sportsmen. The support and your words are always very important. We all look forward to the same goal and I believe we can achieve it because the team only thinks on getting the qualification for London 2012“.
“The team must give its utmost and we are in a very positive mood. Very motivated to get the qualification at home. We believe we can obtain it with this young new team. People identify themselves with this team” added the coach.
Adding: “This is a team with very talented young players, but also with enough claws and this sport men are the result on how volleyball in Argentina has been working during the last years. The Junior Team stands on the top of the World Ranking in the last four years. Today we stand on the second place, being Serbia (the ranking is made with the results of the U 20 and U 17) but in the year 2011 we were the best ranked team of the world and therefore I confirm that this growth is the work of all Argentine Volleyball“.
When Venezuela was mentioned as the team to defeat at this Olympic Championship Quiroga expressed: “We also have to defeat Colombia. Really the three matches will be very hard so we hope to achieve this goal. We are excited but confident because we know we prepared ourselves very good. I think we are ready for this three matches“.
Morresi finished wishing Weber and Quiroga: “If you obtain this qualification you will be playing at English soul just 30 years after Malvinas war. Each of our athletes takes in their hearts the soldiers that died in this war and we keep feeling that the Malvinas are Argentine but we also know you have to go to London only to compete and be Argentine Sport athletes Delegates the best you can. I can imagine it will be a great experience so I really wish with my heart you can obtain the qualification and be in London 2012″ .
