Both players are in Saquarema training with the national team, and will travel to Russia next Wednesday where they will play two friendly games.
“(Serginho) is Pele of his position. We have to do our job. Me and Mario Jr. are fighting for the libero position, but the fight is healthy” Alan points out.
Bernardinho hopes that the two can work under Serginho‘s shadow, who announced he will leave the national team after the London Olympics.
“I hope they can play well and have their qualities recognized, but without the pressure of a permanent comparison with one the greatest liberos in the history of volleyball” concluded the coach.
