Vedacit Vôlei Guarulhos beat APAN/Eleva Blumenau in Game 3 of the 2021/22 Brazilian Men’s Volleyball Championship playoff quarter-finals to record a historical result.
For the first time in the club’s history, Guarulhos will compete in the playoff semi-final of the strongest national competition in Brazil. Before the 3rd game of the quarter-final series between the São Paulo team and Blumenau, it was clear that whichever of the two teams manages to qualify for a semi-final of the 2021/22 Superliga Masculina 1XBET would see the club history happen because both would qualify to the Top-4 for the first time.
As expected, it was a disputed game, no wonder given that these two ended the regular season as neighbors in the charts (Guarulhos as No. 4, Blumenau as No. 5). Guarulhos prevailed after coming back to the match twice and closed the series at 2-1. Franco Paese, the Superliga’s top scorer, was once again the one who put most balls down on the opponent’s ground (26 points). Renato Russomano made 90% reception (20 digs, 1 error, 75% excellent).
No. 3 Sesi-SP turned the series against No. 6 Vôlei Renata (Campinas) around and went to the semis as the last team to do so.
