GRE W: A.E.K. ATHENS tops charts in Greece’s national league

With one round still to go A.E.K. ATHENS secured first place in the standings of the women’s national league. Olympiacos PIRAEUS, Iraklis KIFISIAS and RETHYMNO complete the top four that will be fighting for the tile and will also represent Greece in the 2014 European Cups.

While Panathinaikos ATHENS got past Iraklis THESSALONIKI 3:1 to keep their spot in the first division, Trachones and Oroiokastro will go down to the second league in the 2013/2014 season. With the last round of the regular season scheduled for Saturday, March 16, one of the three following teams – A.O. MARKOPOULO, Anatolia and Makedones Axiou – will also be relegated to Greece’s second division depending on their results in the last fixture of their respective campaign.
