This is the last step on the way to the Final Four tournament scheduled for March 28-29 in Berlin, Germany, for the ‘Block Devils’ around former Volleyball star Nikola Grbić. PERUGIA are making this year their first appearance in this competition and want to leave their mark by progressing to the last and most exciting stage of the Champions League coming up later this month in Germany’s capital.
The players on the roster of Sir Safety Perugia are all in good shape, including team captain Goran Vujević, who recently turned 42, and his countryman Aleksandar Atanasijević, who will be crossing the ways of his former team as he indeed spent two seasons in Poland with PGE Skra Bełchatów back in 2012-2013.
The PalaEvangelisti is expected to be sold-out on Wednesday night for what is anyway going to be the last home match in the European Cups for Perugia this season.
“We got the opportunity to play for a spot in the Final Four and this is really important,” says libero Andrea Giovi.
“I hope it will be a great Volleyball night and I expect a terrific match before the kind of audience you only get on such special occasions. We will be trying to play our best. We have to play aggressive right from the outset of the match, pressure them with our serve, and everything has to work smoothly also in attack,” Giovi concludes.
