It was not easy for VakifBank players after the 2016 Women’s CEV Champions League Finals. They have suffered only one single defeat in the entire campaign, but it came in the game for the gold medal.

Still, despite being very sad for losing the most important match of the season, VakifBank crew showed a great sportsmanship by congratulating Pomi Caslamaggiore on winnning the trophy.

“I would like to congratulate Pomi Casalmaggiore on a well-deserved gold medal. They played really good. As far as my team is concerned, we have tried to return to this match several times, however they did not let us change the flow of the game. At at end, to be the second best team in Europe is not that bad,” said Milena Rašić for WorldofVolley.
