Daejeon simply demolished direct rivals for the playoff spot Suwon Hyundai in straight sets, partially 25-22, 25-18, 26-24, in Round 22 of the V-League. U.S. imports had high-level performances on both sides.

University of Oregon graduate Alaina Bergsma scored 36 points, increasing her lead at league’s top scorers list to 642 points over 540 from Madison Rishel, her compatriot from IBK Altos.

Emily Hartong, former University of Hawaii Alumni student, collected 20 for Hyundai, who now fell to the fourth and also a non-playoff spot.

In today’s game of Round 26 of the Men’s competition, Kepco Vixtorm downed Samsung Bluefangs 3-1 on road with 22 points from Hungarian Árpád Baróti. Park Chul-Woo had 28 on the other side.
