The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation (BVF) will have to find the commander of its men’s national team.
The Bulgaria National Team head coach Nikolay Jeliazkov has announced that he’ll resign. He revealed so upon the delegation’s return from Poland where they competed in the 2022 FIVB World Championship. Bulgaria lost all three matches in the group: 0-3 games each against Poland and the United States and 2-3 against Mexico, which was an especially painful defeat given the reputation of the rival, and remained in 20th place in the ranking. It’s the worst performance of the national team in the history of the World Championship.
The management board of the BVF will review Jeliazkov’s resignation and decide whether to accept it or not. The expert himself added that he hasn’t yet thought about what he’ll do if his resignation isn’t accepted.
