The course is being run by James Wilroy, managing director of Data Project USA, the NORCECA zone representaive of the company who develops the sofware, as well instructor Yeivic Jimenez.
FIVB 1st executive vice-president and NORCECA president Cristobal Marte Hoffiz was present at the opening ceremony and was key to underline the necessity for development to continue the growth of volleyball in the region.
“Development is the name of the game, Norceca is an open confederation for all our affiliates as well as to all the countries that want to be part of this effort for the good of our sport,” he said. “At the first course we provided the necessary keys to a total of 20 countries that participated, now we will add the keys and software to more federations like US Virgin Islands, Saint Kitts and Belize.”
The general director of the Baja California Sports and Physical Culture Institute, Saul Castro Verdugo was also present and welcomed all attendants alongside Mexican Volleyball Federation vice president Alberto Arreola.
The course will conclude on Friday ahead of the NORCECA Women’s Continental Olympic Qualifying Tournament which will also take place in Tijuana.
