Rahimova also broke a world record as she scored 58 points during one match.
“I deliberately do not follow the statistics. And after the game I knew that I had performed well, but I did not think about the record at all. I realized I had accomplished this feat only when a representative of my team, Toyota Auto Body Queenseis, showed up to congratulate me and said that I had scored 58 points in that match, thereby setting a new world record. At first, I could not believe it, and I needed some more time to better understand what I had done.”
She shares some additional insights on her Japanese experience:
“All the teams defend extremely well there, so sometimes you have to hit really hard in order to finish the rally. On top of this, they do analyze your performances in detail and with a lot of care, so it becomes difficult to score as they know exactly where you will be hitting. Volleyball players, standing on the other side of the net, are well aware that the main danger in the game of Toyota Auto Body Queenseis comes from me, so they always take appropriate measures to defend and block as well. It is therefore necessary to search for other solutions and this stimulates my personal development as a player,” says Rahimova.
