The first set was complete disaster for Argentina. They didn’t have any idea how to stop attacks from the other side, while the rival’s defense was too good for them. The first set slipped away to Poland 25:18!
Argentina suddenly woke up in the second set. They were dominating all the time. The roles were changed. Polandcouldn’t stop Conte & co. and couldn’t organize a few good attacks in a row. That’s why Argentina tied the score!
In the third set, we saw sensational turnaround by Poland. They were down 5-1 and 11-6 before recovering to 11-11 after which they were back to the imperious form of the first set. Argentina weren’t terrible but they need to be at their best to compete in Japan. The turning point was Kubiak’s animal pipe for tying the score and later, the team moral lifted up and they took 2-1 lead!
The fourth set was the most exciting one! There were a lot of turnarounds! Argentina had set point 24-23, but Polish lads managed to save it and to prepare the first match point. Velasco’s side saved it, but another one they simply couldn’t. Poland took victory 3-1!
