Will Michal Kubiak once again be disappointed after a 3-1 win? Don’t think so. Poland had a late start in the clash against Canada, but the overall performance can be described with a single word – powerful.
Canada stunned the reigning world champions in the opening set. Despite playing once again without their best player Gavin Schmitt, boys led by Glenn Hoag showed some pretty good volleyball and seized the early lead – 25:23.
But, then the red and white machine turned to full power. Poland tied the game in a blink of an eye – 25:15, while then continued to dominate this game. Bartosz Kurek, the MVP of the match, was unstoppable. He scored 21 points, Mateusz Mika and Rafal Buszek added 15 each, while Piotr Nowakowski stopped at 14. Four of them carried Poland to another win, as red and whites won the 3rd and the 4th set with identical score 25:19 and closed the match.
