Russia had no problems to advance to quarterfinals of FIVB Boys'U19 World Championship after a three sets victory over the United States. Best scorers: Victor Poletaev 15, Dimitry Volkov and Maxim Troynin for Russia scored 9. Colby Harriman finished with 11 points for USA and Matthew Walsh, Jr. with 9.

Maxim Troynin too good for American block

The Russian team won 25-18, 25-16, 25-19 in just one hour and five minutes.

Russia converted 10 points by block while USA only 5 to establish a key difference.

In service, European champions finished with 6 aces. Americans converted only two.

USA fell into the 9-16 classification bracket while Russia advanced to the top eight and will match Cuba on their next match.


Victor Poletaev scored 15 for Russia while Dimitry Volkov and Maxim Troynin scored 9 apiece.

Colby Harriman finished with 11 points for USA and Matthew Walsh, Jr. with 9.
