Sergey Baranov in the last few seasons had serious physical problems, which have compromised his ability to play at a high level. That is why he announced his retirement.
He have three league titles, three cups of Russia, two consecutive Champions League (2003-2004), a European League (2005) and bronze in Athens 2004.
