First thing I look forward to when coming home…
Chipotle! ….and family and friends of course. And free water at restaurants!
Besides volleyball, most of my time is spent…
With friends, usually doing something involving food. Having a job that requires traveling so much and always being out of the country, you tend to treasure any minute you have with friends and family. And of course, every minute with your favorite restaurants in America!
One surprising thing about me that my teammates do not know is…
Geez, after so many weeks on the road together there aren’t a ton of surprising things left. In a video for my college team, I told them my favorite sport was speed walking and they made me demonstrate speed walking around this public shopping area…all on video. Embarrassing, and my teammates would give me so much crap if they saw it.What skill I want to get better at (Non-volleyball)…Right now, learning Italian! I’m pretty much the only one on my club team that can’t speak or understand it. I wish it was easier!
Before volleyball I was into…
Basketball! Initially because I was tall, but I come from a sports family where everyone played basketball. And while I really liked it, I got tired of the contact so I chose a sport with a net separating teams.
Three things I would take with me on a deserted island…
Peanut Butter—because it’s a gift from God. My iPod—because I can’t imagine life without music…and to facilitate the many solo dance parties I’d be having. My Bible—for good spiritual support and so many great stories!
People tell me I am good at…
Movie/TV show quotes and song lyrics. This for sure stems from my family, we are always quoting things to one another, mostly the TV show Friends. And my sisters and I have pretty broad music tastes which keeps things interesting and singing is always mandatory.
Something I am horrible at…
Singing…I do it a lot, but I’m pretty bad. I guess God decided that wouldn’t be one of my gifts…oh well that doesn’t stop me!
Something everyone else likes that I don’t understand…
Twitter… My teammates helped facilitate my first tweet this summer, but I’m still as confused as ever as to how it works. I’ll stick to Instagram and Facebook, thank you very much!
What character/thing was I most for Halloween…
I don’t think I repeated one costume a ton, but my favorite had to be Mary Katherine Gallagher from Saturday Night Live when I was probably 8 or 9. We found a catholic school girl outfit at Goodwill and couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
