Friedrichshafen, Germany, December 13, 2011. Standing at 211 cm Marcus Böhme is the tallest player included in the roster of VfB FRIEDRICHSHAFEN. He regularly scores points via his great serving, killing spikes and monstrous blocks. The 26-year old middle blocker shares his thoughts before the home match with Remat ZALAU of Romania coming up tonight at “ZF Arena”.

What kind of expectations do you have for the match with Romania’s champions?

We shall not underestimate ZALAU; that is sure.We want to go for a clear win because every set counts.

Last year we did not qualify for the Playoffs because we had lost one set more than our closest contender.

I hope we can play in a full house as in front of a huge crowd, we would be more relaxed.

The fans are very important to us as they are always there to support us in difficult situations, bringing us back on track.

If you win the next two matches with ZALAU 3:0 or 3:1 and the Belgians of Euphony lose twice with the same score to Zenit KAZAN, you will be automatically qualified for the Playoffs 12.

Are you interested in these calculations? That does not count at all for me. I am simply focused on the next matches with ZALAU. We will make such calculations only at a later stage.

Your coach Stelian Moculescu has praised the defense of the Romanian team and especially their libero Adrian Feher.

Are you expected to put more pressure with your serving?

If Stelian praised them, it means they deserve it.

So we will have an extra challenge and we know we have to serve strong. If their receivers get into trouble, we’ll have very good chances to claim the match.

After playing ZALAU, on Saturday you will welcome your archrival Generali UNTERHACHING.

Altogether you have to play 8 matches this month, is that a challenge or rather stress?

I would say both. Of course it is stressful to play every 3 or 4 days, it does not matter if the match is easy or not, you have to play and win.

After each game you shall relax and start focusing on the next.

This is a challenge that we have to deal with.
