Ljubljana, Slovenia, December 19, 2011. ACH Volley LJUBLJANA will play tomorrow, in the always marvelous scenario of “Stožice” sports hall in Slovenia’s capital city, the current leader of Pool F, i.e. Poland’s seven time national champions PGE Skra BELCHATOW.

ACH Volley

After losing last week only at the tie-break in front of 9’000 fans, the head coach of ACH Volley, Igor Kolakovic, says: “We are extremely happy with our performance in Lodz and we would like to repeat it here in Ljubljana as well. We know that PGE Skra is the pre-favorite not only of this match but also to finish on top of the group. Their players will be very well prepared and I am sure it will turn into a very difficult match for us. So far we did not play at our best here in Ljubljana but I hope our fans understand the importance of this match and also the strength of our opponent. We are really determined to go for a win and qualify for the next round”.

PGE Skra mentor Jacek Nawrocki adds: “We traveled to Ljubljana after a difficult match that we won 3:2. We took two important points to back up our leadership in the group. We know ACH Volley is a strong opponent: they have very good players and pay much respect to them. It won’t be easy for us, not only after the experience we had last week in Poland but also as we still have memories from the 2010 final four in Lodz. We have recently played two matches claiming both with the same score (3:2) and we would not mind to repeat the same also here in Ljubljana. Our plan is to win and to qualify for the Playoffs 12”.

Everyone says this is going to be a tough match but there is nothing better than to play against the pre-favorites of the group. Every point we take will be a success, even if we play at home, in front of our fans. Even though PGE Skra is the current leader of the group, this does not mean we are going to surrender that easily” says the captain of ACH Volley, wing spiker Andrej Flajs. “Actually I hope we’ll deliver a much better performance than in the previous matches, as we’ll go for the win”.

We are very happy to be in Ljubljana because this is the first time we play in Slovenia” states the captain of PGE Skra Mariusz Wlazly.

We have discussed and analyzed the match of last week and we really want to score another win for the last game on schedule before Christmas. We will need to be very determined and focused to beat a strong opponent like ACH Volley. Of course we would like to win but for the time being it is impossible to predict the final result”.
