Brazil’s opposite hitter Felipe Roque shone as the team’s top scorer, tallying 15 points. However, despite the loss to Brazil, it was Chile’s Tomás Parraguire who stood out as the match’s highest scorer, amassing 19 points.

Earlier in the day, Colombia had its own moment of triumph, marking its first win in the tournament with a 3-1 victory over Peru. Although the team faced a challenging first set, losing 19-25, they quickly turned the tide. Colombia recovered to close out the match with set wins of 25-19, 25-17, and 25-22.

Peru’s team captain Eduardo Romay led the scoring in that match with 17 points, but Colombia’s Apoza wasn’t far behind, putting up 15 points. Colombia overcame their initial hiccup to win the game and earn their first points of the competition, especially significant after their 3-0 loss to Argentina in the tournament opener.
