Argentina vs. Cuba

Argentina had no problems against Cuba. The boys coached by Julio Velasco scored a convincing straight sets win and booked a ticket for the quarterfinals.

It is interesting to mention that Velasco decided to give some rest to his best player Facundo Conte in this match, but even without him on court Argentina looked pretty powerful in comparison to Cuba.

Argentina – Cuba 3-0 (25:16, 25:14, 25:16)

Argentina: Palacios 13, Lima 10, Poglajen 9, Crer 8, Sole 7, J. Gonzalez 2, De Cecco 2, Ramos 1, Bruno, Conte, D. Gonzalez, A. Gonzalez.

Cuba: O. Gonzalez 13, Rodriguez 8, Jimenez 4, Rojas 4, Hernandez 1, Arredondo 1, Nicolas, Alvarez, Delis, Sanchez, Cohimbra, Castro.

Group B: Argentina 3-1 (9 points), Poland 3-0 (8 points), Iran 2-2 (7 points), Russia 2-1 (6 points), Egypt 1-3 (3 points), Cuba 0-4 (0 points).
