BRA W: Not even Carol’s 8 blocks didn’t help Praia – Sesc down last undefeated club in Superliga

By beating Dentil Praia Clube 3-1 in Round 13, Sesc RJ Flamengo downed the last undefeated club in the 2022–23 Brazilian Women’s Volleyball Championship.

At home in Rio, Sesc stunned vice-champions Praia and won Round 13’s match of the 2022-23 1XBET Superliga Feminina by 3 sets to 1. Aside from moving up to fourth place in the standings, Sesc interrupted the unbeaten run of 12 matches for the team from Minas Gerais state in the competition.

The day of the match was Veronica Perry’s 26th birthday and she celebrated it in the best possible way. The American outside hitter from Sesc (their best scorer this season) was the match’s top scorer with 25 points. Laís Vasques had 88% reception (17 digs, 71% excellent). Dutch Anne Buijs top-scored for Praia, who despite the defeat and the end of the invincibility, continued in the lead of the Superliga, with 20 points.
